Scentsy Buddy Review and Giveaway with Sandra

Sandra Foy, a Consultant with Scentsy, sent me Ribbert, the frog Scentsy Buddy.

My first thought when I pulled him out of his custom box, which is more like a pet condo with windows and doors, was how the pictures I have seen of these in the catalogs and online just don’t give these guys enough credit! From the pictures I saw, I imagined him to be thin and kind of lanky, when in fact he is quite the stout little guy, and way softer than I expected. Scentsy describes the buddy’s are perfect for your child or the child with in yourself! These little guys have a nifty zipper pouch  in their back to stuff with a scent pack. While I can not vouch on how long they will last since I did not have one, many people I have spoke with say they can last up to 5 months, just depends.

Now isn't this nifty, look how simple it would be to switch the scent! I LOVE this feature

I will say this buddy is so soft and cuddly, it is the perfect amount of fluff and softness, fills the body just right. The zipper pouch seems like a great idea for little one’s who take their stuffed animals everywhere seeing as how they will keep them from being less stinky. Not to mention that you can just wash the buddy and change the scent whenever! One of my friends daughters has one and says they hold up perfect in the washing machine and the scent makes it perfect for their rooms when they become “curious” of the cords on the warmers. I was told the buddy can fill the room with the scent inside it.
These little buddy’s come in 10 different animals, one being for the winter and one being a charity item benefiting the Ronald McDonald House. They have over 30 scents to stuff them with from a calming lavender to a bright and fun fruity scent. They range in price from $25 to $30 depending on which buddy you get.

What else does Scentsy offer? Everything from hand sanatizer and car items to elegant warmers and over 80 scents to pick from in wax! Is it worth the money? Yes, I think the buddy is worth the money. My puppy loved it, she kept it in her crate and laid on it at night as well as had a fight or two with her cousin over it. I am sure it will hold up to a child if it can handle my puppy and her cousin.

Would you like to win a Scentsy Buddy of your own?

Pampered Chef with Stephanie Review and Giveaway

Pampered Chef is another direct sales company. Almost all the reviews we have done up till now are direct sales, meaning that they individuals run their own business as a direct seller. Their product line features high quality kitchen tools, gadgets, cookbooks and food items with over 300! Pampered Chef continues to offer expert cooking tips and simple recipes to guide both consultants and their customers to enjoy cooking and “develop their God-given talents and skills” which is a part of their company mission!

Stephanie was nice enough to send us the NEW Chocolate Peppermint Sauce! This sauce comes in a jar that is just shy or 9 ounces for $10.  They recommend using the sauce on
ice cream, cheesecake, cakes, brownies or pies. They even have some recipes that the company has come up with on how you can use the sauce in tons of different ways, they even say to try it as fondue! Cole and I decided to try it as an ice cream sauce and let me say it was delish! It was the perfect amount of mint to the chocolate, while the sauce got a little thinner then I like for ice cream, I prefer a more fudge like consistency. They say you can serve room temp or warm, so we tried both, warm is the way to go. Makes the mint not as powerful and when it hits the ice cream it gets thicker like a fudge. I am thinking after finals week, I might swirl it in to a brownie batter or make a frosting with it for some cupcakes.

This was my first time to try any food product from pampered chef and let me just tell you, it has made me want to try some other items they offer. Not to mention trying some of the neat kitchen gadgets they have. Like the microwave chip maker, for $26 you get a set of 2 trays that will save you tons of money while making healthy snacks at home for your family. So who is ready to win some Pampered Chef?

Here Comes Santa Claus

I'm sure everyone has a Santa story. Mine began when I was a little girl. My parents took me to see Santa at Metro Center Mall in Jackson, MS. One look at the jolly man dressed in red and I took off running in the opposite direction. All I remember is 2 college-aged blondes dressed as elves running after me. Fast forward 26 years later and my children feel the same way I did when I was 4.

With hopes that my son would be different, I took him to see Santa for the first time in 2008. He took one look at him and screamed. Needless to say, the photographer wouldn't take the picture. I was relentless so we returned back to the mall in 2009. This time, he still screamed as I held him but I told that woman to take the picture or else. My husband says that I look like a Stepford Wife in the picture-all happy while my son, Christian, is in complete terror. I learned my lesson back in '09 and decided to forego 2010 for him, that is. Last year, was our daughter's first Christmas so we took her. Since she was just 4 months old, Santa had no effect on her whatsoever. Whew! I was glad, finally a tear-free Santa photo.

Fast forward to 2011....my son is now almost 5 and my daughter is well over a year. I had talked my son into standing by Santa while my daughter, Presley, sat in his lap. I thought that surely she'd take a picture with the jolly man in red since her brother and her have 2 totally different personalities. He's the shy one and she is the life of the party. Apparently, I thought wrong. Apparently, my fear of Santa as a child passed through my genes to my children. Even with my husband present, Christian was not going to get near the man. When I introduced Presley to him, she slapped him. Did I mention she's a feisty life of the party? Because I had the "we're going to take this durn picture mentality," we all got in the picture. My husband and I were not dressed for the picture but we took it anyways. Presley kept giving Santa the "don't mess with me" eye and Christian couldn't get away from him fast enough. We made it through the picture with just 2 out of the 4 of us smiling-my husband and me.

Oh well, at least, the elves didn't have to chase anyone down the mall. I even decided to use this memorable photo as our Christmas card. Though no one can truly treasure this card unless they know the entire story from start to finish. Tell them for me, please. I'll be trying to keep my daughter from beating up Santa. Merry Christmas!

Black Friday Shopping and a new Recipe

Okay, so yes I will admit, I am a crazy black friday shopper. I go every year except for last year since I had knee surgery 2 days prior to it. Let me just say that by far this was my best year yet! I spent under $175 and got a retail value of product of over $450! Heres what I got:
24 Movies (i used coupons on some of them)
3 xbox 360 games
1 xbox wireless controller
1 waffle maker
1 mini chopper
2 liters of shampoo and conditioner

Cole, his first time ever did great! He spent $260 for about $570ish wroth of product and got the following
xbox 360 with kinect (for me, YAY)
6 or 7 movies (not sure)
1 PS3 game
$50 gift card
6 qt crockpot (for his mommy)
2 bottles of water (should have packed my own, would have saved more $$)

My mom via my sister and I got an awesome one cup coffee maker for about $88ish after tax, but she gets 5% off her bill, PLUS she got a $30 Target gift card, making the coffee maker about $54ish after all savings accounted for!

I feel like I am missing something from his list but not sure. He admits he hates this with a passion but that he got all that stuff for what he would have paid for just my xbox so he is happy. But he is undecided on going next year. Me on the other hand..Im ready to go now!! I LOVE IT!! Not to mention that I got a couple rebates for movies to turn in as well as a couple coupons that I used.

Now after i rested and took a nap and while Cole was at work, I went to CVS and Walgreens to get their great deals! It was a good week for both, I spend $30 and walked away with over $65 in bucks to use later, as well as over $130 in product! I LOVE my coupons and I love Black Friday! I dont know what I would do with out it. Now if only I could get Cole this excited. But we have made progress!

The other day, Cole's mom had him order the stuff he wanted for christmas online. So my little savvy shopper went through ebates, making sure he would get cash back, then he found a coupon, that as he puts it gave me shorts for FREE, plus free shipping! So he will now be getting a new hoodie, shorts and a few bucks back thanks to me! Not sure if he will admit it or not, but it is soo awesome! He has even started getting more into groupons and that type of thing and restaurant.com stuff. I am sooo happy he finally sees how much this can pay off if he sticks with it! Now to get him to do it on a bigger scale..he lives in the basement and theres so much room for a stockpile..now to convince him!

Okay so I promised a recipe and so now I shall spill! Being the holidays and that Eggnog is everywhere I have decided to share with you my favorite breakfast/brunch and Christmas morning meal!

Eggnog Puff Pancake

this is not your normal pancake, its thick like french toast, but has no bread.

6 eggs, beat till frothy
1 1/3 c eggnog
1 c flour
1/3 c butter flavored crisco
1 t nutmeg
toasted almond slivers

Heat over to 425, place the crisco in a 13x9 GLASS pan. Make sure it is HOT HOT, it has to be hot to make the pancake puff.
Forth the eggs, add the egg now, mix on low, add flour and nutmeg, mix on medium till incorporated.
Pull the crisco out of the oven and immediately add the batter
Put back in the oven for 15-20 mins, till puffed and golden brown.
DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN WHILE IT IS COOKING! DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!

you can make this batter ahead of time, just remix it before you put it in the pan. DO NOT USE BUTTER!

Let me know what you eat on Christmas and if its tradition to do something, I would love to know!!

Hope everyone has a great week. I know I will,  it is BEDLAM and as much as i dislike the classless, tacky and down right rude and uncalled for ou guest. I will remain LOYAL and TRUE to the OSU way and be welcomeing and kind to all of them. Now if yu dont believe me in how they treat us, go look at the tweets Brandon Weeden gets, or the disrespectful and rude comments made when we lost after loosing 2 of our coaches in a plane crash. There are somethings in my life that I would never change even if I had the chance and one of the is being a Cowboy! Nothing is better then being here in a community where no matter what the outcome is, we still LOVE our team, we still WEAR ORANGE and we stand proud and strong next to anyone, not to mention we ALWAYS remember those we lost and that is why I am a  LOYAL AND TRUE OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY FAN, I WILL ALWAYS PROUDLY WEAR MY ORANGE AND BLACK AND REMEMBER EVERY PERSON WHO HAD AN IMPACT ON THIS CAMPUS! GO POKES!!!

Tupperware with Sandra Foy

Okay, so unlike the rest of America, I some how have never used Tupperware all 22 years of my life. I am not sure how it happened, but let me just say, THANK YOU to Sandra! She is an AMAZING sponsor of ours and has sent me an amazing product to try. I used the product this past week in my prep for Thanksgiving, so now on with the review!

For this review Sandra sent me the Tupperware Quick Chef Food Chopper and Processor. Let me just say that this is a pretty neat little item and I love it! I will say that I did learn a few lessons after starting to use it that made it even easier and better. The Quick Chef makes chopping easy, while saving money and providing a quick upper body work out! With just a few quick turns vegetables are chopped and mixes of almost any kind are mixed! A single turn of the handle rotates blade or paddle whisk four times, saving time and effort. The staggered 3 stainless steel blades effortlessly chop fruits and vegetables and even nuts. The paddle whisk quickly whipped up my eggs for morning breakfast. The top I will say could be better, The handle is not attached, which is great for storage, but it comes off it you have a bit to much in the chopper, something I learned! The non-skid base was genius, it prevents sliding, which comes in handy when you are chopping away!

My Quick Chef came with the 3 staggered stainless steal blades, the whipping attachment, a funnel, with measurements, for easy adding of liquids and a top so that you can store directly in the bowl once you are done mixing! Let me say after washing those blades, WATCH OUT, man our they sharp, I think they are shopper then the ones on my electric one that I just bought! Most of the items fit inside the bowl for storage, making it easier to store and harder to loose parts.

I chose to make my cranberry orange relish in my Quick Chef this year. I should have known that just like my blender, I needed to do this in batches. But I didnt do that, so I learned the hard way, got an AMAZING work out till i realized that I needed to break it in to batches. Once I broke them in to batches, it was so EASY! The blades turned with ease, the funnel was great to add the wine in with out a mess. I LOVE THIS CHOPPER!

Here is my relish half way though the process! And now, here it is Finished!
Now here's my recipe in case one of you would like to try it!
12oz FRESH Cranberries
1 Medium orange with the peel on and cut in to chuncks
Pecans or Walnuts to taste, a few handfuls is what I do
2-3oz dry white wine
Cinnamon to taste
Sugar to taste

Chop till all small and chunky, chill for about 8 hours then eat! Great with turkey, by its self or on cream cheese and crackers!

Okay, now who wants to win some Tupperware?
