School and Technology

Okay, so I am young and yes I love my android, ipad and ipod! But do I love all of my homework being online? No! I hate it, I have one company who doesn't know why my page is not fully loading, and yes my homework is due tomorrow and I have no way of doing it. Not to mention out of my 6 classes only 2 of them use the same online program, so I have 5 different programs that I have to use, and only one of them was free!

Why do teachers feel it is better to do everything online versus the way that it was done for years? I have spent 350+ on online programs for class, I would have never spent that much in paper if we did it the old way. I never thought that all of my classes would rely so heavily on the internet. So many factors could make it to where I can not do my homework.

So Cole has been spending some time in Stillwater with me. I love when he is around, not to mention who knows when he will get time off again once he goes back to work Monday. I still cant believe that he graduated and got offered a promotion so quickly! He is amazing!

That is us after graduation in the school shop. They had the ice cream truck there! I was so excited about that, I love the ice cream truck.

School, homework and a graduation

Well last week was jammed pack with school, tons of homework, a couple quizzes and Cole's graduation. I will say, this is not going to be an easy semester. I have such a crazy class schedule that I have no time for much of anything else. I can not wait till my night class ends and I have more time for homework.

I will try to update the side bar saying what giveaways are next and the giveaway page for this weeks giveaway tonight when I am done with class. I will hint at our giveaway, they do amazing invites and it's a good money saver!

So last week in Stillwater, I managed to not get lost, and to not have to go to walmart every day like almost the rest of campus. I also, found out how many places give me a discount and I love that, since I love to save money! I even learned who on campus has the best food. I also bought my season tickets, and can not wait to go to the games.

I also got to watch cole graduate on Friday. I am so proud of him to have made it this far and to see how much his job is going to do for him. Not to mention he already got asked if he would take a promotion! On a down side of the week, when cole and I both went home for dr appts last week his car started acting up. Not only did the body shop do a very poor job on the car, but now something is wrong with it under the hood. So now, they have to repaint some areas, fix some more body work and make the back door close all the way.

Up dates on us since the wreck, I still have not been able to go to the dr since surgery to keep working on my treatment, so I am still pretty sore. Cole went to the dr and he thinks he re tore his rotator cuff, which was just fixed 6 months ago and they think he has a broken
hip! I mean come on, can we catch a break! My poor laptop has 1400 in damage to it from it flying around during the wreck.

When I first started my blog this year and I thought about what I wanted to have as reviews and giveaways, I immediately thought of hair bows! They are my favorite fashion statement, even if I am 22! I myself am 22, there for I put my bow to the test, I decided to treat it as a small child would treat their bow, that way you moms will know if it is going to hold up! I tugged, I pulled, I even got my bow wet, I didn’t want to at all! But Mother Nature decided it needed to rain, so against my will I left my bow on my head and let it get wet! What did I find out, my sister could really make a good hair bow! I pulled, tugged and attacked my bow and what happened? Nothing! My bow stayed together, I am very happy it did, I would have been sad if I had broken it! Humid as can be..

Well last night and this morning it decided to rain in Stillwater. It is humid as can be, which is not good for me, not only do I try to hide my scars and missing hair by wearing my hair down, but my lovely kinky curly natural hair loves to kink in this weather. Guess I won't be hiding my scars today, guess it's already time to own up to them.

This whole big school, that's 10x the other schools I went to, is crazy! I do not know anyone yet, so I just sit in class and be quiet. I will say, I wish my sister and I had known there was a new classroom building on the other side of campus and that is where my second class was. I was just luckily to realize early and make it across campus just in time for class. Just 2 more classes to go, then dinner and homework time. I will say I was spoiled being a culinary student, my homework was done as I cooked dinner. Now they are 2 different task, oh well back to real college.

Ready For Class

Well, I am in Stillwater! I am ready for class tomorrow, okay well I am kinda ready, I go from 9-5 with an hour break between every class! But I can do it, time for homework and figuring out this huge campus! I will say, being in this town is AMAZING, ORANGE PRIDE any day over half the other colleges I have toured or gone too! I mean really how can you not LOVE this guy?

I am sad, Cole is at another OSU campus, about 2 hours away. I am gonna miss him very much, we do everything together. Good side, he graduates Friday, so he will only be an hour away soon! Big BONUS, I love being close to him! He is the best ever, he does sooo much for me its crazy!

So, my face is pretty normal again, I think I am 70% down in swelling. I do think I will have some scars on my left side, one of my stiches left a big divot in my face, I think it is because my sisters pug removed a scab early. She obviously pug attacked me! But, my face is pretty normal looking, just in time for class. I am glad that I wont look so funny in class, pretty amazing that about 2 1/2 weeks ago I had a major 6 hour surgery and you almost cant tell. I just look slightly chubby faced, but no one knew me here before, so no one will know the difference.

I will say, today, I wore my Bow Bow 2 Go Go bow they sent me! I LOVE it so far, can't wait to give you guys my review this week and show you the giveaway bow!! Who is ready for the first giveaway? Sad to Say

Well, our first sponsor, Taste of the Ozarks, is having to reschedule. Thay are having MAJOR computer issues and we hope to fit them in soon. I am very sad about this, yet slightly excited about it. Because hopefully by the time we figure the new date i will be able to eat again!

I couldnt be happier, due to the surgery and having some hair shaved off, I will be using bows ALOT in my hair to try and distract people's eye. I can not wait to tell everyone about the bow and how great or ungreat it may end up being!

*UPDATE* My stiches are out, well not the ones inside my mouth, but I will take it! I also got put on soft foods! Yay, I can add pasta, mashed potatoes, soggy cereal and biscuits and gravy! I'm gonna try some tortilla's I hope they are okay, but guess I will find out.

Well, today my sister's pug decided to let herself in my room while I was asleep. She then decided to jump on my face..this did not make me happy. I had already woken up in severe pain at 2am, so this did not help me at all, nor did it make me happy.

So Cole is coming home tonight because he has doctor appointments tomorrow to be seen since he hasnt seen once since the wreck. So apparently Cole's insurance called him today and said they are going to look at his car. But, the car has been at the body shop since 2 days after the wreck, so it has already been repainted, and started to be fixed. So now we have no idea what is going on. The car is in the middle of being fixed, so what good is it for them to NOW go look at it? We do not really understand this.

Excited, tomorrow I get my internet and cable turned on in my apartment in Stillwater! I am even more excited and scared to move in this weekend and start class Monday. I am still swollen, bruised and all scabbed. I just hope people dont think I am weird because of my face and the fact that I can not really talk normally. Guess we will find out, well time to go get a snack, then shower and get ready to go watch my mom and sister play soccer with Cole.

Surgery Up Date

Well I am on day 5 of my recovery, last night was the worst so far. I couldnt sleep, I took more pain meds like I was told to and its still horridly painful. My bruising has really started to take place, my left eye is about to have a shiner, my whole chin is starting to change color and my neck and behind my ears is fully bruised. I called the doctor to see what we can do about my pain, they decided we would just move my post op a day earlier. So I guess stiches will come out tomorrow, not sure how I feel about that. Every surgery I have ever had used the kind that just dissolve.

That was me 2 days after surgery, I was super puffy and had no feeling in my chin or near my ears. Swelling has gone down a decent amount, I still have no feeling, so we added the bruising. I do have 10 stiches total and 6 permanent screws, not to mention the loss of some hair because they had to shave some for the surgery. I am still on a liquid diet, I eat a lot of mushy malt o meal, drink lots of juice, i have boost to keep up my vitamin levels oh and lets not forget all the soup and smoothies i have. 

 

Here I am today, top stich by ear, then one below my ear lobe then the third on my cheek. The other stiches are inside my mouth and my screws are inside my jaw. They took a good inch or so off of my hair, which I am very sad about! 

Here is a front view, still very puffy, i have a chin though, which is nice. Well, now its time to get some more liquids in.

Liquid Food Diet

Okay, so this liquid diet is pretty standard. I really need some ways to shake it up, I have been looking all over online and it all seems to be the same. I would love to buy some cookbooks, but they all seem to be online. So whats my next step? Try the 15 recipes that I have found. Think you can help? Feel free to offer ideas!

So with all this said..who has any ideas? I will be putting up my ideas as I make them so everyone can try them if they want. I think tomorrow I will be trying Malt o Meal again, juice and water, then maybe a mexican soup of some sort, v8 and tea and for snack a yummy peanut butter smoothie and dinner well maybe i will try some mac and cheese or spaghetti very over cooked.

Back From The Doctor

Well, went to the doctor today, he took of my compression wrap. Let me just say it was a big surprise of how big the scars are and how many stitches and lets not forget how much hair got shaved! Doctor said I am no where near as swollen as he thought I would be, but he said he expects more bruising, which I havent really seen since I have been bandaged. My mom said all behind my ears is bruised. If anyone has that fat picture app, take a picture and you will see what my cheeks look like! I will post pictures later, once Cole or my sister are home to help.

New diet, well for the next 2 or so months I am on a liquid diet. Not sure how I feel about this, so I would love if one of my readers has ever gone through TMJ surgery to give me some tips. Good foods, best protein shake and any other pain management tips. Oh and if anyone knows how to make my hair grow faster I would LOVE a tip for that.

I will say even as swollen as I am I can tell my chin is there and I can no longer stick my tongue through my top and bottom jaws. I cant wait for swelling to go down and to see how great it looks!

I am excited to start our reviews next week. I am still waiting to hear if Taste of the Ozarks is still going to be a sponsor, I know we all hope so, I mean who doesnt love something tasty! As sad as I will be, since I cant eat this dip, I will be having Cole, my sister and parents doing this review.

Off to change my ice and see what else I can eat before my next meal..maybe malt o meal..hmm let me know if you have any ideas!

Surgery is OVER

Well, surgery went well, doctor said it was pretty bad one of the worst if not the worst he has seen. My over night was not the best, I was in so much pain and constantly be waken up to be checked on. I will post some pictures later, but currently I am so sad about my hair! They had to cut about an inch off above both ears to do the disk part. I have 6 stitches, real ones..little thread tails and all and 6 screws that I will have for life in my jaw.

Currently I have a neck that is sooo swollen, its huge, all meat head like and starting to bruise. My cheeks are all kinds chubby like a chipmonk and bruising also. My jaw I will say is nice and forward, I think I will like it once its all said and done. My teeth feel so weird too, I have always been able to put my tongue between the top and bottom and now i cant! Good news, only 6 more months of braces, we hope!

Sad part, I am on an all liquid diet, I can have up to a milkshake consistency. So that means, waters, ice cream, sorbet, jello, pudding and soups. Does anyone have any awesome reciepes for anything liquid. Or a really yummy soup that I could try? Well, time to go ice my face, and wait for my liquid lunch!

Car Wreck

Well, Cole's and my families luck seem to just be getting worse this summer. Cole and I were in a wreck on Friday, we think we are okay, I am going to the doctor today and Cole is calling his doctor to try and get in tomorrow when he does not have class all day. Poor guy hurts, his shoulder that just got fixed 6 months ago is now hurting again, as well as his hip. I on the other hand, well I was thrown to the door and then in to the center console, so I hurt on both sides, my jaw hurts worse from clenching and my back and neck are killing me!

I will say Cole and I were lucky, after the driver hit us, he hit another girl and rear ended her. Worst part was the driver had his 2 year old in the car, no seat belt or car seat! Needless to say, driver was arrested for child endangerment, and got 5 tickets, now insurance on the other hand, has not accepted fault in this yet, so we are waiting on them. Oh best part, the driver who hit us, well he has a great wrap sheet of priors, which I can tell you do not make me a happy person! Why can people just not learn from the first mistake! Grrrrr

Outlet Shopping on Tax Free Weekend

So, it's tax free weekend here in OK! Yay! So I decided, well half my clothes are lost and some of them are starting to not fit, better go save some money. This weekend, OKC's new outlet mall just opened today, so I decided I would go brave the crowds to see what I could find. I lasted 2 hours, waited in line for an hour at Polo to buy a few shirts. I thought of going to look at Coach but their line was around the building and most other places were just to packed. Worst thing is that people were parking blocks and blocks away, thank goodness I got a semi close spot. But once I was out there and was waiting and realized it was so long, I wondered is it worth it? Is the few dollars you save worth the hours you spend in time. What do you all think of tax free weekend, is it worth saving money during the summer to go and spend it all during tax free weekend?

So did I learn my lesson on this? No, not really because Cole, Dani and I will be there early Sunday morning to try and find shoes for Cole, look at Coach for me and see if I can find any other cheap clothes for this fall. I guess maybe next year I will decide if it is worth it after this year. But so far, the $3 I saved in tax, well it hasn't really paid off since I am sure the gas cost more then I saved.

Still need 2 more pet giveaways! We are all full for this year, except pet month, and have started on 2012! I am so excited to share my honest opinions on products that maybe you have wondered is it worth it.

Time to find some stuff for my apartment at my parents, that way it is all in a nice little pile for when I move the rest. Since, I am sure I will be very out of it after this surgery when it comes to moving! Time to work on my pile and find everything I need!

Take Out Prices

So I dont know about where you guy's are from, but here in OKC, when you eat Mexican almost every resturaunt gives you FREE chips, salsa and queso. What I dont understand is why when I get it to go, you dont want to ever give me enough. I could eat there, drink water and pay the same price and tip the same amount, because I believe in tipping even when I get to go since it is still a server and they depend on tips. So why not give me enough stuff to feed the four people I am feeding, more so why do you argue with me when I just spent $50 on the food! Grrr so annoying, maybe one day people will realize to go needs the same treatment.

Pet Crazy

Doctor's appointments galore this week and next week till my surgery. So much is needed for this surgery! Why cant it just be as easy as all of my knee surgeries I have had? I mean, geeze isnt it bad enough I need surgery lets just add 5 other appointments to the mix!

Well this week we have been trying to use our crockpot more to help save money on the electric bills by not using the oven. We had a super yummy meal last night! It was Cheesey Turkey Tostadas, so yummy and only took an hour in the crockpot! I should have taken a picture to show to everyone. I also used a jar of my salsa that I canned last week. This week, I am going to try to make Apple Butter to can, I LOVE APPLE BUTTER! so yummy and so easy from what I have seen!

Update on my car! Well, I was suppose to have her back yesterday, but due to my sunroof being damaged, and causing a problem with my headliner, I now have to wait longer so I can get a brand new headliner. I cant wait till I get my car back, I have missed it so much. I am worried that I will stall my car when I go to leave since I havn't driven a standard in so long. I just want my car, I just want to see her and see how cute she is and how great they did fixing her.

Surgery is going to be next week! I am excited that I finally get to have my jaw fixed, 5 years later. This surgery is going to be a very long surgery, so I will be absent for a little bit from the blog. I will be having a surgery that is over 6 hours long and requires an overnight hospital stay. But dont worry, I will keep up with the giveaways and reviews, my sister and Cole will help.
